Reporting directly to the Controller, the Payroll Director will manage all aspects of the Payroll Department includingprocessing, reporting and compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Lead and develop a high performing cohesive team in a rapidly changing environment to deliver high quality service for our valued employees.
Responsible for the timely and accurate payment of wages including proper deductions for benefits and taxes.
Ensure that processes are efficient, policies are adhered to and internal controls are properly designed and functioning.
Ensure payroll and related tax filings are in compliance with applicable federal, state and local wage and hour laws and current tax regulations.
Manage the planning and implementation of new/revised payroll procedures (new jurisdictions, different taxation structures, varying labor standards, changes in Company policies, new pay items, upgrades in software systems).
Develop an ongoing strategy and action plans for the payroll function and related services.
Manage vendor relationships to ensure that service levels are realized, criteria for metric reporting and utilization are established, and competitive opportunities are explored.
Develop and maintain strong, effective working relationships and partnerships with business leaders throughout the organization.
Identify business issues related to payroll processes and services and develop plans to maximize opportunities and minimize risks.
Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field. Minimum 15 years of payroll experience including 5 years of management experience.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) preferred.
Advanced knowledge of federal and state tax laws as they relate to payroll and benefits.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, produce results and follow through on commitments to service.
Requires tolerance for ambiguity, a customer service/continuous improvement mind-set, well developed presentation skills, and high impact influence skills.
Demonstrated leadership abilities including proactive partnering in a large, complex organization.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service approach to problem solving.
Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with personal information, compensation and benefit information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products Excel, Access, Word and Outlook
