Along with being skilled in your trade, working in the yachting industry also has requirements that will be considered.
All personnel must be presentable and professional. No ripped or torn jeans, shirts (preferably collared) must also be clean and presentable. All employees must maintain a professional can do attitude while shipboard, no exceptions. All employees must exhibit the highest level of craftsmanship at all times with all completed work tasks. Project completion must meet deadlines while meeting all requirements of professionalism and craftsmanship.
Applying insulating materials to pipes or ductwork, or other mechanical systems in order to help control and maintain temperature
Read blueprints and specifications to determine job
The candidate will remove, repair, and install various types of insulation; including fiberglass, calcium silicate, and rubatex from piping systems, ventilation systems, and various components and structures throughout the ship
Using basic tools including a knife, tape measure, scissors and sharpening stone
Removing and sealing insulation
Covering, sealing, or finishing insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic
Preparing surfaces for insulation application by brushing or spreading on adhesives, cement, or asphalt, or by attaching metal pins to surfaces
