Tradesmen International is looking for an experienced Project manager to work with a highly valued client.
JOB PURPOSE :
The Project Manager position executes one or more assigned projects in such a manner as to assure on-schedule completion within the established budget, in accordance with contractual obligations and good engineering practice, and in a manner satisfactory to the customer and the company. The Project Manager’s responsibilities involve total management of the technical, financial and administrative aspects of the project(s). The Project Manager reports to the Manager of Projects, Engineering Manager and supervises and directs the Project Engineer assigned to the project. He oversees the entire project staff and the assigned support personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establishes the detailed scope of work for the project(s) in conjunction with the marketing personnel responsible for the sale and in accordance with the project proposal and contract.
Assists the Marketing Division in the preparation of proposals, preparation and/or review of contract documents, development of scopes of work, determination of technical skill requirements and resource loading for projects, determination of inputs for contract pricing efforts and in the preparation of project plans and schedules.
Establishes, with the assistance of the Project Engineer, appropriate staff budgets, work breakdown structures, and resource requirements necessary to execute the scope of work.
Establishes and maintains project schedules including tracking project milestones and deliverables ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Monitors the progress of all project functions and reports on their status to the Manager of Projects, the Director – Energy Products, and the Customer as required. Gives particular attention to reporting matters affecting project overruns or delays and makes every effort with the Manager of Projects to rectify these conditions.
Establishes (with the assistance of the Project Engineer) the design criteria conceptual preliminary engineering for all areas of the project, and monitors the final engineering and fabrication for adherence to these criteria.
Supplies Division Management and/or the Customer with current, accurate information regarding the status of all project management functions by the maintenance of appropriate records and issuance of required project status reports.
Negotiates with the Customer when required.
Authorizes and approves all requests to the Accounting Department for preparation of invoices to the Customer.
Authorizes and approves all travel requests, purchase orders, and invoice payments for the project.
Approves all submittals to the Customer of project work outputs, information requests, advisory notices, project status reports, etc.
Reviews all work for compliance with the contract. Identifies out-of-scope work requirements. Prepares (or supervises the preparation of) contract change notices and requests as required.
Represents the Company in all relations with the Customer.

Three years of project management experience, including project design and field erection phases.
Two years of progressively responsible administrative experience.
Evidence of effective interpersonal and managerial skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and work with all levels of the organization and resolve problems efficiently.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with contractors.
Ability to establish priorities
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Technical reporting ability
Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines.
Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
Good knowledge of general office procedures
Ability to operate telephone, photocopier, scanners, fax machines, and PC workstation.
Working knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office and MS Project
Ability to work independently while performing required tasks.
Good interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to travel
