Along with being skilled in your trade, working in the yachting industry also has requirements that will be considered.
All personnel must be presentable and professional. No ripped or torn jeans, shirts (preferably collared) must also be clean and presentable. All employees must maintain a professional can do attitude while shipboard, no exceptions. All employees must exhibit the highest level of craftsmanship at all times with all completed work tasks. Project completion must meet deadlines while meeting all requirements of professionalism and craftsmanship.
Working from drawings and/or sketches, measure and cut wire of various gauges to specified lengths
Installing and troubleshooting navigational equipment and GPS systems
Pull and install wire in boat
Drilling holes and cutting openings into fiberglass and aluminum
Strap and secure wiring to boat structure, often overhead
Connect power leads to switches, outlets, lights, breakers, pumps, fuel systems, control systems and other electrically-powered devices
Repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
Ability to work in confined spaces
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing ladders and occasional crawling
Basic math, reading and verbal communication skills
