Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine First Class Shipfitters for projects located in and around Newport News, VA . This is a first shift opportunity with a pay range of up to $45/hour based on experience plus $120/Per Diem to Travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:

• Multi-Pass Tack Welding

• Burning Oxygen/Propane Burning Torch

• Heating Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch

• Layoff Piece Parts for Fabrication and Assembly

• Assemble Structural Piece Parts in Accordance with Specifications

• Use Vibratory Tools, Grinders & Needle Guns

• Air Carbon Gouging

• Erect Set and Makeup Complex Shaped Shell Plates, Decks, Bulkheads, Longitudinal Trunks, etc

• Install and Replace Hull Inserts and Penetrations

• Install Miscellaneous and Complex Foundations

Requirements:

• 4+ Years of Experience

• Pass Drug Screen & Background Check

• Be a US Citizen

• Ability to Comprehend Complex Structural Assembly Blueprints and Sketches to include Welding Symbols, Material Types, Datum and Reference Lines

• Ability to Comprehend Fractional Dimensions as with the Use of a Ruler

• Experience Working in a Physically Demanding Environment, Shipbuilding, Steel Fabrication, etc.

• Familiarity with OSHA Regulations Relative to the Shipbuilding Industry

• Ability to Use Work Packages, Drawings, Molded Lines and Ship Reference Lines to Plan and Execute Work
