Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Inside Machinists for projects located in and around Newport News, VA . This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of up to $27.31/hour based on experience & skill level plus $120/per diem for travelers of 60+ miles from the job site . Job Scope:

• Work with numerical controlled processes

• Manual data input

• Tooling offsets, conversation controllers, etc.

• Operate manual and/or NC machines such as; lathes, mills, horizontal, vertical, machining centers, EDMs, etc.

• Work with controllers such as; Fanuc, slemens, achromatic, Cincinnati, milacron, etc.

• Utilize precision measuring instruments; outside/inside micrometers, depth mics, veerniers, etc.

• Read blueprints & complex mechanical drawings

• Work with thread & various measuring/gauging requirements, drilling/tapping processes

• Work with carbine machining processes

• Work with horizontal boring mills HBMs; travel in the range of X 500 Y 250 Z 50 and W 65

• Work with turntables about 10 square with a load capacity of 100 tons

• Work with Vertical turning centers that tables that are roughly 80 in diameter with a 20ton table capacity; x total travel will be about 160 and Z will have 80 of travel

• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as an inside shop machinist

• Must have experience with 1 Horizontal Boring Mills HBMs will have travel that is in the range of X 500 Y 250 Z 50 and W 65. They will also have turntables about 10 square with a load capacity of 100 tons. 2 Vertical Turning Centers VTCs will have tables that are roughly 80 in diameter with a 20ton table capacity. X total travel will be about 160 and Z will have 80 of travel.

• Ability to comprehend complex mechanical drawings & blueprints

• Strong Math Skills & familiarity with numerical controlled processes

• Ability to work any shift as needed
