Tradesmen International, Inc. Electrical Maintenance Technician in INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana


Tradesmen International is hiring Electrical Maintnenace Technicians for a company we are partnered with in Central Indiana.

Pay: Up to $28 hour

Possibly travel with per diem

Duration: Temp-to-hire

Possible overtime

Details -Provides quality installation, inspections, maintenance and repairs of hoist and crane equipment. Takes breakdown calls which require troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components and circuits.

Must have own transportation to get to and from work daily, basic hand tools for the trade, be reliable, PPE & valid driver’s license/state id to qualify

Additional responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment (strong knowledge of motors)

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance activities

  • Provides customer service by acting as liaison between customers and office

  • Repairs equipment as required

  • Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding repairs

  • Services existing accounts by analyzing work orders, planning daily travel schedule, investigating complaints, troubleshooting and resolving problems

  • Builds and maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, and suggestions for methods and techniques for improvement

  • Keeps overhead crane systems operating by performing inspections, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, responding to repair calls

  • Documents service and installation actions by completion of forms, reports and inspection checklists

  • Builds and maintains customer relationships by maintaining good response times, informing customers of problems and completion of jobs in a timely manner

  • Inspect overhead industrial cranes and hoists to ensure safety and compliance with Manufacturing OSHA and ANSI standards


Additional requirements:

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and understand technical data

  • Ability to work in elevated areas

  • Must be able to work with voltages up to 480V

  • Ability to identify and resolve electrical problems and operational malfunctions

  • Ability to operate a forklift and manlifts

  • Ability to mitigate additional damage by working with a high degree of precision and control

  • Strong working knowledge of and compliance with lockout/tagout procedures

  • Ability to accurately document service and installation work

  • Must have current valid driver’s license

  • 5 years of related industry experience perferred

  • Ability to follow electrical code manuals to perform maintenance and repair on industrial machinery and equipment

  • Ability to work with others

  • Have a mechanical aptitude

  • Self-Starter

  • Safety conscious at all times

  • Comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications required by our client

  • Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment

  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation
