Job Description (as detailed as possible)

  • Insulation experience preferred. Weather Marine or commercial some EXP is helpful.

  • Familiar with carpentry, hand tools, working with sheet metal and other materials. Marine exp preferred but general construction considered.

  • Specifically, familiar with installation or items such as doors, windows, lockers, tables, cabinets, and furniture.

  • Can read diagrams, schematics, and blueprints

Requirements

Marine Insulators / Pipe Coverers needed. Require 3+ years of experience as a marine pipe coverer applying molded pipe sections to various steam pipe systems (i.e. main steam, auxiliary steam, HPD, LPD). Also need experience in applying tempmat and block insulation to components such as turbines, pumps, etc.

Must be able to install, remove and repair molded insulation which includes calcium silicate, tempmat, and finishing cement to various size piping systems (i.e. 1x1, 2x1, 3x2, 5x2, 8x3, 10x3, 24x4)

Requires high quality workmanship, i.e. must be able to cut proper miters, apply fiberglass cloth over sections smoothly. Must also use care to avoid applying adhesive on adjacent surfaces through the use of masking, drop cloths, etc.
