Tradesmen International is partnered with a tower company and they are currently seeking a Safety Director on the westside of Indianapolis.
Demonstrated experience leading a multi-location organizational safety program required. 10+ years of safety experience in a construction industry with progressive increases in responsibility preferred. Experience with Wireless or Telecommunication industry safety standards preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in safety related discipline and BCSP certification preferred.

Overall responsibility for Health and Safety Program ensuring compliance with all applicable local, State and Federal regulations across multiple locations developing a culture focused on a commitment to zero incidents.
Develop a positive and proactive relationship with field staff with an emphasis on open communication regarding issues, near-misses, good catches and ideas for improvement.
Direct company Health and Safety compliance programs and activities, including related resources, documentation and training.
Ensure the company is complying with state and federal OSHA regulations; monitoring legislation and regulation changes.
Oversee and participate in field safety audits and other related activities as needed.
Liaise with industry, company, state and federal officials on compliance matters.
Mentor management personnel and hourly employees with respect to safety.
Audit and advise management of compliance issues, recommend solutions and assure issues are resolved in a timely fashion.
Facilitate/present safety training to ensure both relevance of content and compliance with regulation.
Work closely with Risk Management personnel and insurance companies on loss control and return to work programs.
Review all incident reports and follow up with management and supervision as required.
Develop a working relationship with outside regulatory agencies as required.
Review existing and proposed health, safety and worker’s compensation regulations and determine their applicability. Advise management with respect to appropriate actions.
Review procedures and inspect office and project locations to ensure safe work conditions.
Develop and implement standard procedures and reports.
When requested, act as a resource to help customers solve health and safety issues.
Monitor contractors with respect to both their safety systems and compliance.
Manage all OSHA training records and requirements.
Review and approve safety communications and documentation as required.
Review and maintain a current Safety and Health Program Manual.
Negotiate/contest OSHA citations where deemed appropriate.
Maintain professional affiliations and pursue applicable certifications as directed.
Represent company with safety organizations.
Develop and deliver safety presentations to internal staff, departments and outside organizations as appropriate using various mediums. This includes delivering the safety portion of the new hire orientation process.
Maintain competency of basic computer skills as required to administer the safety program and interface with our customer reporting sites.
Directly manage all customer required reporting sites, e.g., Browz, ISNetworld, Avetta or any other site required by customers.
Travel as needed.
