Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Marine Shipfitters for projects located in and around Jacksonville, FL. This is a full time opportunity with a pay rate of up to $24/hour based on experience & skill level plus $110/per diem for travelers of 60+ miles from the job site . Job Scope:

• Provide maritime ship fitting skills for repairs to ships & boats in the US Navy, US Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, MSC, & Commercial Vessels

• Layout & measure utilizing both the imperial, English, & metric system

• Work with hand tools & power tools

• Operate and/or assist with overhead cranes to include safe rigging of components to be lifted

• Understand, interpret, & apply naval sea systems, Navsea milstd1689 and MIL STD 248D

• Set up, troubleshoot, & utilize welding machines

• Measure & remove steel and/or aluminum components

• Fabricate and reinstall components at the gap tolerance for welders

• Determine proper equipment to be used

• Inspect tests & repairs, work pieces accordingly

• Tack welds, metal parts in place

• Connect hoses from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel/shielding gas & turn valves to release mixture

• Ignite torch and regulate flow of gas and air to obtain desired temperature, size, & color of flame

• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• 2+ Years of Experience

• Weld Certificates from Technical School Preferred

• HS Diploma or Equivalent Preferred

• Must be able to pass a MIL STD 248D Certification Test

• Working Knowledge of the Navsea Standard Items & Other Regulatory Bodies

• Ability to read blueprints

• Must be proficient in Washing Weld

• Ability to work at heights

• DBIDS

• Drug Screen

• Standard PPE

• Hand Tools
