Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Turbine Outside Machinists for projects located in and around Newport News, VA. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of $17.34-27.31/hour based on experience & skill level plus $120/per diem for travelers of 60+ miles from the job site . Job Scope:

• Installation of hull inserts

• Use of lapping & blue checking tools

• Operate lathe

• Valve overhaul, steam, & vog AC refrigeration repair

• Installation of lift check valve

• Steam plant cleaning

• Installation of main engine propulsion plant machinery & equipment

• Installation of anchor windlass, mast, & antenna

• Lube oil flushing

• Installation of ballast tanks, refueler, drilling/taping, etc.

• Test boiler operations

• Installation of valve & pump packing

• Installation of deck ordinance

• Shafting & bearing work

• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• 2+ Years of Turbine Generator Experience

• Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry

• Familiarity with Fasteners

• Ability to comprehend complex drawings, blueprints, diagrams, & sketches
